Getting it Together

There's a great song from the musical "Sunday in the Park with George" called "Putting it Together". I love the process of pulling together all the various elements of a production, from the music, to the lighting, to the costuming and staging to the box office and marketing. It's incredible what is involved to make something come to life on the stage.

Up2Something and She's Up2Something are now in the final stages of getting "The Divine & The Devious" -- our 2009 year-end show, put together. Singers are busy with memorization, staging and costumes. Mikee and I are working hard on the script, piecing the show together, bit by bit. Others are taking charge of box office, marketing, PSA's, ticket sales, logistics, and an endless list of must-do's that will ensure we're ready to hit the stage on June 6th.

While we're busy looking ahead, there's still lots of undone work from our past performances. I spent a good part of today working on a video montage of "Calgary Sings!" There's always something new to learn with technology these days, and I enjoy dabbling in this intimidating new world characterized by Twitter, Facebook and YouTube!

I'll be posting along the way as we get ready for "The Divine & The Devious"...a great show in the making. Much to do -- so I'm outta here for now!
